Usse creates improvised music within a structural framework, exploring the intersectionality of motion, mechanics and timber. In the vein of soundmaking aesthetics relating to free jazz and free music, no-wave and post-punk, and the 'krautrock' era of German music. The desire is to explore common interests of spontaneity, play, tension, time and space. At once both concrete and kosmiche in nature, the music ranges from taught, stuttering rhythmic selections, to the more abstract, oblique and opaque. With interests in the political as well as creative act Usse explores sonic spaces to discuss and confront structures of privilege and power.
